I love being married. I love owning a home. I love entertaining people I care about (or at least want to impress). I love learning new things. I love to garden (even if I'm not great at it). I love my neighborhood and community. I especially love to cook. Even more, I love to connect with people who share these same loves.
I hope we can create a community here to share ideas, thoughts and learnings on this journey. The audience for this site is like-minded women - those new to marriage, home-ownership, careers, family planning and trying to figure it all out!
The Meaning of "Spread the Board": I have been a volunteer camp counselor for 10+ years. One of our traditions with the kids is to sing a song before we eat. One of my favorites goes like this:
"Morning has come, the board is spread. All join as one, we share this bread"
It always made me think about the joy of sharing a table with people and breaking bread in a really simple and joyful way. In this same spirit, I invite you to my table. The board is spread.

About the Author
Brea Starmer was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. She attended Washington State University (Go Cougs!), where she was elected the 11th female student body president. She was a member of Alpha Phi sorority and met the love of her life in the basement of at a Delta Chi frat party.
After college, she backpacked through Europe with her boyfriend (who proposed in Paris to become her fiance). She then went to work as a marketing manager at Microsoft in Redmond, Wa. She bought her first house in West Seattle in 2006 and married her husband, Andrew, in 2007 at the Nestle Farm in Carnation.
In 2009, she started as the business development manager of JeffreyM Consulting.
